Recently, 8 of the H!P Eggs auditioned for a spot in S/mileage. I've attached the link to the audition video at the end of this post. Unfortunately, since it is an unlisted video I was unable to embed it in my post. In case you are unfamiliar with the eggs, the girls who auditioned are : Mogi Minami (3001), Miyamoto Karin (3002), Katsuta Rina (3003), Otsuka Aina (3004), Takeuchi Akari (3005), Kaneko Rie (3006), Takagi Sayuki (3007), and Nagazawa Wakana (3008).
Mogi Minami was initially a finalist in the 9th generation Morning Musume audition before becoming an egg in June. Unfortunately it seems nerves got the best of her and she did not do well in the S/mileage audition. She stuttered a great deal and in fact seemed to forget some of the lines. I think she needs a lot more training as an egg before she is ready to debut.
Several of the girls I think had a pretty good audition. In my opinion though the front runners from the eggs are Karin (3002), Aina (3004) and Sayuki (3007). Aina was also a finalist in the 9th generation Morning Musume audition and I had been hoping to see her pass. While she did really well in the S/mileage audition, part of me is hoping that she will not pass and will instead audition for Morning Musume's 10th generation. Her voice and style just aren't a good fit for S/mileage. Karin did really well and S/mileage she would be a good addition to S/mileage if she passes. Out of all the eggs that auditioned though, #3007 Takagi Sayuki is the perfect fit for S/mileage. She seems to have the same vocal range as the existing members and already has great control over her voice.
Of course these are just my opinions. You should watch the audition video and judge for yourselves. Hopefully more audition videos of regular girls surface soon.
